International Women's Day - 8 March 2010
 
The economic crisis is affecting women more than men. "Women are now bearing the brunt of neoliberal policies and the careless mishandling of the banking and financial sector. At the same time all the taxpayer-funded aid measures are going to the male-dominated sectors, such as the car industry " Women's Rights Committee Chair Eva-Britt Svensson at the recent GUE/NGL seminar Economic and social crisis: the consequences on women's lives and the responses needed that was held to mark International Women's Day 2010.
